I’ve always loved being a Christian. Ever since I was young I’ve actively enjoyed attending service, Bible study groups at home, singing and praising God. There’s something about learning, sharing and hearing God’s messages through worships that makes my heart soar! It brings me so much life no matter how sad, heavy and scary sometimes life can be. However, things began to change when we had to move homes and I eventually had to start working; I found myself into the corporate world getting promoted.. and while I was blessed with constant promotion which has brought me so much happiness and fulfilment, I also became too busy and so is my schedule — work load has since then engulfed me. Eventually, I lost contact with my Christian friends, our pastor and everyone whom I pray and celebrate God’s love with regularly.
Whilst I continue to pray, read the Bible (but no longer as frequent as before) and attend mass on Sundays, I never stopped praying asking Him to show me the way back to a community, like before, who helps me stay on track. It took a long while of searching, waiting and praying…
Until one Wednesday afternoon when I stumbled upon Rhiza of Chasing Dreams‘ blog post and read about Pusuit Manila‘s first gathering, I felt that that very minute God has finally given me the answer to my prayer. Immediately I contacted Rhiza and decided to join their second gathering…
I was sorta clueless.. but I was excited.
So come February, the second gathering, I went to La Creperie in Makati where it was held. I’ve loved this place since the first time I’ve been to their QC branch — always cozy, pretty and their crepes are really yummy!
As I entered the venue, I was in complete and total awe of the place.. it was beautifully designed with lovely flowers all around! Flowers which to me signifies love.
The afternoon was filled with so much fun too! Our creativity was challenged when we first made our own flower crowns…
We worshiped with really cool music led by by our sisters Jam & Jem and Julie.
And listened to inspiring stories of faith from Stef and Julie, who is not only inspiring but is blessed with such beautiful voice.
We also filled our tummy with yummy crepes which we get to make ourselves!
And brought home with us truly creative handmade gifts. Thank you!
That day was full of creativity and so much love!
Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”; it took a while for me to be able to find this kind of community again, 18 years to be exact. It’s a little bit different from the past but the Lord has given me something that feels even more perfect to what I have become. I feel home.
Sometimes the Lord makes us wait and gives us signs in forms totally different than that of what we expect. But always trust in the Lord, for His timing is always perfect and He knows what’s truly best for us. He loves us even in times we are short of loving.
To Rhiza and the team, thank you for bringing Pursuit Community in Manila. You are truly a blessing to women like me!
I can’t wait for the next gathering… Thank you Lord, You truly are the best! I love you!
